So many big job losses reported today on the news, including banks, U.S. media outlets & big IT. I wonder what we’re all going to do when Al kicks in. There’s more of us, we’re living longer, but often more isolated & we’re not great at keeping ourselves moving, presently obesity rates are up year on year with 1 billion excess £s spent in the NHS last year fighting its consequences. No high st banks & hours waiting to talk to a ‘person’ for every service on line or on the phone. It’s so often the elderly who lose out the most. Even the supermarkets are pushing all customers towards a machine checkout! Where do they get their little chats if living alone? Parkings impossible without a smartphone & apps. More & more antidepressants are prescribed amongst young people, up three fold as Mental health keeps taking a tumble! Physical & mental health are so related to each other, humans need resilience, not enough is made of this. Sorry a bit doom & gloom but every once in a while I do wonder where this all stops? Rather a sad news day. How do we combat such negativity, particularly when in so many areas it’s hard to talk uncomfortable facts! Because ‘being kind’ means ignoring so many facts. If we can’t face a difficult truth we can’t work out how to fix it..
