Tunisia is genuinely beautiful. North Africa feels far but entrepreneurs struggle with similar things as us in UG
- Credit is hard to come by
- Banks are banks....
- Payment rails are PAINFUL
- Bureaucracy...
Yet, they push and are incredibly crafty and creative. From Libya to Tunisia and Algeria to Morroco, I had a fantastic learning from them...
MULWANA - STORY
MARKETING
I used to take my young family then to Serena Kampala hotel on Sundays for lunch as a treat since the week days are busy.
Mr. MULWANA would arrive with his family mostly extended, maybe 15 people if my memory serves me well.
On settling on the table, Mr. Mulwana would stand and slowing walk to the buffet and pick JESA YOGURT and serve each member of the family every time.
Naturally, I also loved supporting him so I would make sure my family too would take JESA YOGURT. Mr. Mulwana Knew exactly what he was doing.
Now, you guys think I love marketing but he made sure every family member who came over for lunch appreciated business thoughts JESA YOGURT in this case.
REST IN PEACE MR MULWANA
I am here in my ka-rented house lacking sleep up to now at 3:42 AM, thinking about how Uncle Chris Obore was once hosted on @ntvuganda#OnTheSpot alongside the soft-spoken Dr. @SpireJim. When he was asked to defend the trending corruption allegations at the august house, he would shout on top of his voice and justify Parliament's purity while insinuating sex-for-marks analogies but the mature Dr's emotional intelligence let the excited loot-money-handler explode.
The greatest thing God denied mankind is knowing what's likely to happen at anytime that hasn't clocked.
Too much to learn! A guilty conscious mind needs no accuser.
Important piece of history in fact.
The Royal missionaries of Uganda tried to save it by raising close to £40k & failed. British govt sent Gerald Portal he took down the company flag & placed the Union Jack.

"We live in an ass-licking economy. The biggest problem in this country is not corruption. The problem is that there are many qualified people who are not where they are supposed to be because they won't lick anybody's ass, or they don't know which ass to lick or they don't even know how to lick an ass. I'm lucky to be licking the right ass."

What happens to the Hoima Refinery when the Dangote $17B, 700000 barrels per day proposed refinery in Kenya comes on stream? It was first proposed for location in Tanzania and now it’s said to be located in Kenya.
Any investment of this size anywhere in Africa is of course welcome,
How funny life is, the judge that sentenced Hon. Rwakasisi to death died before him & Rwakasisi is now not only alive but also a presidential advisor for the same President who appointed the Judge!
In Burkina Faso, the government has brought together more than 1,000 traditional herbalists as part of efforts to modernize the country’s traditional medicine sector.
The government believes many herbalists hold generations of knowledge about medicinal plants that deserves proper scientific research and testing.
Instead of letting that knowledge disappear, they want to study it, improve it, and see what can be produced safely on a larger scale.
Remember, long before modern hospitals, many African communities relied on traditional medicine for generations.
My son, making money is easy. It is making money while carrying a family that breaks a man.
A youth can afford to plant his entire harvest because he only has his own stomach to manage. He can bury his money in the soil and wait for time to multiply it.
But a man with many mouths to feed is forced to throw his seeds straight into the boiling pot. He cannot afford to invest for tomorrow because his family is starving today.
Use your youth. It is the only time in your life when you are allowed to plant a seed without someone demanding to eat it first.
Be blessed.
Samia Suluhu was given a deal by Ruto, Museveni, and Dangote but she was very egocentric asking how can an oil refinery be built in Tanzania without consulting her first.
Ruto responded to her immediately that I wish I built the refinery in Mombasa, Kenya instead. A week later, Dangote wrote in the magazines that he prefers Kenya. A few days later, the refinery is already in the process of conception in Lamu, Kenya 🇰🇪
Your future children don't need the youngest father. They need the most prepared one. Think beyond the wedding photos.
DON'T marry without a sound financial base.
“No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.” — Carl Jung
