The problem with art museums, is that they have too much art. You go on weekend with grilfriend, you walk through room after room, you see maybe 500 paintings and sculptures in a few hours.
Many of them incredible masterpieces, the product of months and months of labour, intended to be contemplated at great length over a lifetime. They numb your brain, after the first 10 or 15 paintings, you can’t appreciate anything at all, you’re only sensitive to the loudest, most outrageous pieces. The subtlety escapes you, you are exhausted even though you don’t recognise it.
The way to do art museum properly, is to ignore most of the paintings. You go with a very specific goal in mind. A specific artist, a specific portrait series, even a single solitary sculpture. You read about before you go, you know exactly where it is in the museum. And you go only for that purpose, you spend an hour our more with that one piece, or with that limited series that you have read about. On your way out maybe you to take note of a few interesting pieces and artists for your next visit.
That is how you do art museum.
can someone explain to me why i keep having these gruesome dreams about my kittens????? like they are exceptionally violent & i don’t understand

BREAKING: The moment Israel drops bombs on tents full of refugees, in the dark of the night, in a ‘humanitarian area’ in Rafah.
More than 35 Palestinians have been killed, mostly children burned or decapitated by the bombs.
This is a massacre.
Unrelated (but related): Ever since I learned that trauma is mostly stored in our body, I always suggest to people physical activities that can release trauma. Bc when somebody knows better but CAN’T do better that just means there’s a shit ton of trauma stored in their body triggering them to always go back to what’s familiar and “physically” & mentally feels better leading to a vicious cycle they themselves don’t understand why they can’t get out of.
the whole point of going deep, facing the darkest parts of yourself and doing that inner work is to become lighter
you are suppose to laugh more babe. take less things seriously.
