Still blown away by the fact that @DrGiesler uses his zoom screen to display the lecture content while also still being in the screen. The only Prof to ever do this -- and it makes a BIG difference in the learning experience. #CX21
Today was our last class of "MKTG 6800 Customer Experience Design" with @DrGiesler at the @SchulichSchool of Business. Can't believe we're at the end of the term so quickly. The conversations about CX design will definitely not stop here! #CX21
3/3 We decided the ENDING should change. In the new ending, #Babar challenges the assimilation and when he returns to the jungle he doesn't convert others to these new ways. Instead he shares his stories & experiences to bring about the discussion of assimilation & racism. #CX21
2/3 How can we rewrite #Babar? We suggest keeping the beginning. It's important to 1) acknowledge & address the #colonialism that has occurred around the world & 2) to also teach children about #racism. Taking it out & pretending it doesn’t exist isn't the solution #CX21
1/3 Today in #CX21 we spoke about the beloved children’s book of #Babar. Did you know that the story is actually an allegory of #colonialism? In class we learned that when you raise a nostalgic experience it comes almost always at a cost- it perpetrates a type of inequality.
@BennettMagnacca Loved this poster! It’s really clear how @patagonia uses the EMPA model to reduce risks and enhance empathy. I’m a fan of their #CX design and products! 🙌🏾 #CX21
With context ethnography we learned more about the #CX of @lancomecanada's "Virtual Try-on" service. #Augmentedreality here is used to create a seamless experience by allowing customers to try multiple products easily reducing the risk of buyer's remorse (financial risk). #CX21
Today's #CX21 class is about creating an immersive experiential scape through #Homification.
During class we went hunting for homified objects in our homes. Here's mine: a gifted custom photo frame with a photo of my puppy. Right next to it - a scented candle.
Looking forward to my #CX21 class tomorrow. Last week we learned that through context ethnography, risk analysis, and the EMPA model we can improve the emotional impact of customer experience design. Interested to learn whats next in store for us! #SchulichSchool
@mahenj2@SchulichSchool Sorry, but by now the basic use of Zoom for teaching is table stakes. Instructors teaching remotely (who care) need to be injecting some method of engagement beyond pure lecture to students, whether through additional tech or other methods. Or need step down from their perch.
@MarkOrlan 😂😂good point. Some @SchulichSchool don’t know how to use zoom to begin with so that’s why it’s a shock but clearly not in the Marketing Department.
Loved learning about the EMPA Process during our lecture. Really interesting to learn about how empathy mitigates customer risk perception. @DrGiesler #CX21
Toast Hawaii was introduced in Germany in the 1950’s. It was a post-war invention to allow Germans to unite and feel comfort together. Happy that I was able to share this experience with my dad -who immigrated to Germany in the 80’s prior to coming to Canada. #CX21#SchulichMBA
Me: “Appa, I’m making Toast Hawaii in my marketing #CX21 class today” *goes on to explain*
Appa: “I know what that is, I ate it all the time in Germany"
Me: *Floored*
Amazing how this culinary experience can cross generations and how it can connect many people together. Loved it!
