Every time I spoke up about what hurt me, I somehow became the problem for refusing to stay silent. It’s strange how quickly people call you difficult when your honesty disrupts the comfort they found in your silence. “Today my wife was attacked in broad daylight in Cardiff. Before the attack, they followed her and chased her in their car, shouting abuse at her from the car. After being threatened and followed, she took a picture of their car.

When they clocked that she had taken the picture, they ran towards her, shouting abuse, and attacked her. She was punched repeatedly. Both of them held her while shouting "get her scarf off" and ripped her hijab from her head.
