I’ve been reading a book written by EXO Suho’s father, and it’s one of those books that quietly changes the way you think.
One passage introduces a letter Zhuge Liang (Kongming) wrote to his son:
“Only by reducing desire can your purpose become clear. Only with a calm mind can you go far.”
Although it was written centuries ago, it feels surprisingly relevant today.
The book reminds us that happiness isn’t something we receive after achieving success. It begins when we stop measuring ourselves by other people’s standards and start choosing a path that truly fits who we are.
One sentence especially stayed with me:
“A résumé remains on paper, but the path you choose remains in your life.”
Some books don’t tell you how to live.
They simply help you discover your own way.

🧑🏻: CHANYEOL, do you have anything you feel upset or disappointed about?
🍒: To be honest, it’s not like I participated in that many matches to even feel disappointed..😆🫳🏼
👩🏻: Ah, so he was a true cheering fairy!
🍒: Yeah, it couldn’t be helped because, first of all, there were many times I couldn't even participate in the matches due to my schedule
🍒: And honestly, my understanding of the match patterns is still a bit lacking...
🧑🏻: So Chanyeol is the one doing the broadcast in the most comfortable and relaxed way right now
🍒: That's right, YES😆🫳🏼

This music video marks the first project where I held full artistic direction and creative control. Wukong has carried his name all along; call him by it.

you want airtime? get near chanyeol 🤭
🙍♀️ : were there any changes when chanyeol joined the team [for season 2]?
👦 : first of all, when we have matches, there's always an audience. since the crowd loves chanyeol hyung so much, the energy and the volume of their cheering became completely different. and secondly, chanyeol is someone with a massive amount of passion. when he runs, he opens his eyes wide like this. one time, i was running a fast break. usually, when i run, the defenders are supposed to swarm all over me.. but it was wide open, like a highway. so i thought, "oh, this is really fascinating. it's so comfortable and great!" and easily made the basket. but later on, when i watched the replay, chanyeol was running full sprint right next to me looking like this. he basically drew all the defenders to him. because he ran out first.
🙍♂️ : i guess the defenders wanted more airtime on broadcast too!
🍒 : beside me? i actually felt that a little bit 🤏
🙍♂️ : "if you stick to gyumin, you won't get on TV! run towards chanyeol!!!" "who even cares about our team right now?!"

The story of how Chanyeol became the MC of Choi Crew 🏃♂️
🍒 : last year, we had our smtown concert in london. at the time kai and i went down to the gym to work out, but while we were at the gym, we ran into changmin hyung and minho hyung, who were fully dressed for running and they just out of nowhere suggested, "hey, let's go running together". i thought it was just going to be a light jog, so i tagged along, i wasn't even wearing proper running shoes..and we ended up running 5 kilometers. we ran 5 kilometers and it took only a bit over 30 minutes! it was seriously exhausting. my knees were hurting so bad.
[clips from london run]
🍒 : a youtube team saw that footage and thought, "it would be so much fun if we get this guy to run". so they cast me as the fixed MC for a running channel
🐿 : but isn't that a good thing?
🍒 : oh, it's great! i was super happy about it, but... right now, i'm doing the concerts, playing basketball, dancing on weekends and then once i get back, i have to run. then the next day is basketball again, and then running... if it's like this, my stamina should improve, right? but it's actually getting worse 🥲
🍒 : i don't really have any professional background data when it comes to basketball. i started playing basketball on my own just before i enlisted in the military. i would go out to Hangang by myself and just practice shooting and that was just about it. but playing team basketball properly for the "Rising Eagles" is a first for me, so honestly, even during practice, i get really nervous and it still feels quite unfamiliar, that's why it's been quite difficult.
👦 : from what I see with Chanyeol, and this is no lie, if he practices consistently, i believe he can become pretty good at it!
