Tyquan Thornton said he’d love to be back with the Chiefs. But wants a team that will involve him enough to get his “fair share of targets.”
And wants to show he can be more than just a straight line downfield threat.

*Matt Nagy named offensive coordinator prior to 2023 season
Nate Taylor is on Bob Fescoe’s morning show right now and has finally come out and said the quiet part out loud: the receivers were beyond frustrated with position coach Connor Embree.
And Nate makes a great point and that Deandre Hopkins and Travis Kelce were more responsible for the development of Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice than the positional coach did. That is an issue. It also explains the regression that Worthy had this year.
For all of you that think that the positional coach does not matter, you’re wrong. If you have a guy leading a nuanced skill position that never played at that level in the NFL or truly understands what needs to be done, it is hard to teach and develop young talent.
We wish Connor the best of luck in his future endeavors, but the NFL is not his jam.
Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported this morning that if Matt Nagy (whose contract with the Chiefs is up after this season) does not get a head coaching job, he will likely look for an offensive coordinator job somewhere that would allow him to be the play-caller.
Rapoport and Pelissero also reported that the Chiefs “could welcome back” either Bears RB coach Eric Bieniemy or Giants OC/interim HC Mike Kafka as their next OC.
I promise you don’t want to have a YAC convo about Mr. Steinfeld
