Glad to see dialogue replacing confrontation. Dissent deserves dialogue. This is democracy in action.

Pellet guns, electric shock batons and nail-studded lathis have no place in the land of Bapu.

Equally, attacks on security personnel and public property must be examined fairly. Accountability cannot be selective.

This moment and oppurtunity is bigger than paper leaks. I urge a National Commission on Education and Examination Reform, with a three-month roadmap to restore trust in examinations, reduce academic stress and modernise education, one that also hears Tamil Nadu's voice, where young Anitha's death first showed the human cost of a single high-stakes test.

The Government's willingness to engage is welcome. Now let us ensure that dialogue leads to lasting reform. The road ahead is long, but Indians must walk it together.

My unstarred Question in Parliament to the Ministry of Jal Shakti sought clarity on the status of the Mekedatu project and the safeguards protecting Tamil Nadu's water rights.

Cauvery is shared by States and governed by law. Respecting both is essential to a lasting solution.

I welcome the Union Government's confirmation that any future appraisal of the Mekedatu DPR will be undertaken only in accordance with the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal Award and the Hon'ble Supreme Court's judgment. Those legal safeguards must remain the foundation of every decision affecting the Cauvery basin.

My unstarred question in Parliament to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs sought to understand how the PM Internship Scheme is performing in Tamil Nadu. The Government's reply shows that the scheme has evolved, but participation and completion must improve.

The PM Internship Scheme is a commendable initiative with the potential to become a meaningful bridge between education and employment. The next phase should focus on outcomes: introduce a mobility and residential stipend for interns placed outside their home district; integrate PMIS with State Skill Missions, universities, ITIs and employment exchanges; incentivise companies based on internship completion and subsequent employment outcomes rather than vacancies posted; and deploy AI-based candidate matching that aligns internships with a young person's qualifications, skills, preferred location and career aspirations.

The measure of success should not be the number of internship offers announced, but the number of young Indians who complete them and confidently transition into long-term employment.

My unstarred Question in Parliament to the Ministry of Power sought to determine whether Tamil Nadu is receiving adequate electricity to meet its growing demand.

Power is more than megawatts on a spreadsheet. It is the electricity that keeps a factory running through the night, powers a student's study lamp and sustains a farmer's livelihood.

The data placed before Parliament shows that Tamil Nadu's peak electricity demand has grown significantly over the last five years, while its allocation from Central Generating Stations has not kept pace.

Across Tamil Nadu, citizens have struggled with power cuts and outages even as the official narrative suggests everything is well. Tamil Nadu powers India's growth, it deserves transparent planning, timely investments and a fair share of the nation's power infrastructure.

After the historic fall of delimitation-linked 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill, my colleague @PWilsonDMK has introduced a Private Member’s Bill to implement 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, without linking it to delimitation.

The Bill also proposes extending the freeze on delimitation till 2051, giving states time to achieve population stabilisation which can be achieved by our North Indian states through genuine women empowerment i.e. providing access to quality education, quality healthcare, and equal employment opportunities for women.

If we are serious about women’s empowerment, 33% reservation must be implemented immediately within the current strength of Parliament.

Any attempt to bring in delimitation through the back door risks undermining India’s federal balance amid existing regional population disparities between the North Indian states and rest of India.

States like Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states, which prioritised women-centric development and population stabilisation, should be seen as models, not penalised with reduced political representation.

I urge the Union Government to convene another special session of the Parliament after the Assembly elections and pass this Bill, or introduce an equivalent government legislation without delay.
