I am excited to announce my campaign for reelection to Madison’s School Board! Almost three years ago, I was sworn in as a member of Madison’s Board of Education. These past couple of years have been challenging for public education in Madison, our state, and our nation.

With the hiring of our new superintendent and the development of our budget, we have an opportunity to expand the capabilities of public education and what it means to our community. There is still a lot of work to do, as public education is the backbone of our society.
Today and every day, we celebrate the perseverance, strength and beauty of Indigenous communities around the world. Our traditions, cultures and lifeways are here to stay as we build a world where all Indigenous peoples are respected and heard. Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
This morning I had a conversation with an urban planner and in the middle of our chat, he asked “are you one of those people who think everything is about race? Im asking so I know how to proceed with you..”
I responded, “land use in this country has always been about race.. 1/

The Supreme Court's decision to strike down affirmative action, including in professional schools, like medical and nursing, will have detrimental consequences on Black health for generations to come. This is about life & death for us. Today, we are only 5% of physicians.
