The even bigger lesson here is that she didn’t make any corrective gesture. A person of that stature has just corrected you, you ought to show that you’ve taken on the correction with an explicit “I am sorry sir” with a smile, or with your body language. It communicates “I didn’t mean to be disrespectful”. But she staged a ‘come-back’ face instead.

There’s an education a lot of GenZs have gotten from the internet about corporate relations and comms that’s largely flawed.

“If you come late, don’t say ‘I’m sorry.’ Say ‘thank you for your patience’ instead”

“If someone points out an error in your work, don’t say ‘thank you’ or ‘I’m sorry about that’, say ‘good catch’ instead”

They sold apologies as a weakness. It’s really unfortunate. In a lot of cases, correction is a gift, a gift of context and perspective, that you can learn from. But an entire generation has been taught that correction is an attack and apologies are signs of weakness.

VISIBILITY is its own profession alongside whatever profession you choose for yourself

The woman running the “HARD QUALIFIED JOB” you think is what qualifies her as serious…That is the JOB she chose.

She is not invisible because society silenced her, She is invisible because building an AUDIENCE is a “second” full-time job, and she did not take it.

Men are online every day doing the most unserious things imaginable. Skits, banter, nonsense. Other men are not showing up in the comments to tell them their aspirations are too small.
