Some victories don't just win medals. They change what's possible.
For years, India had never won a gold medal at the World Rowing Cup.
Now, Army rowers Akshay and Ujjwal Kumar Singh have rewritten that history.
Competing at the 2026 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland, the duo powered through the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls final, clocking .09 to finish ahead of Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
The win is India's first-ever gold at a World Rowing Cup.
Even more remarkable? Both champions are serving soldiers in the Indian Army. In fact, India's entire 18-member contingent at the event comes from the armed forces, a testament to years of discipline, relentless training and quiet perseverance.
Here's to the duo that made Indian rowing believe a little bigger.

Incredible sportsmanship by 🇮🇳 33 yr old Kidambi Srikanth 👏
After the umpire mistakenly awarded him a point, Srikanth admitted the shuttle was out, leading to the decision being reversed.
He still won the match and booked his place in the US Open final. 🏸🇮🇳

A terrifying update has emerged regarding the Mumbai poisoning plot. Interrogations by the Byculla police, ATS, and Intelligence Bureau reveal that the arrested suspect, Fayyaz Premji, meticulously prepared for this operation by spending over 15 days in a Dongri guest house.
During his stay, he ordered 50 kg of Zinc Phosphide, a highly lethal rat poison, alongside 30,000 empty capsules, manually filling each one with a gram of the toxic chemical.
To execute the mass poisoning, Premji utilised a network of people, including a burqa-clad woman, to hand out the toxic capsules to participants during the Muharram procession.
The scheme fell apart when multiple victims took the capsules thinking they were standard painkillers to soothe physical strain, only to experience severe nausea and fainting spells. Their immediate medical emergency raised the alarm, allowing authorities to track Premji to his guest house where 14,900 filled capsules were successfully seized.
Central agencies are currently digging deeper into Premji's history, noting his previous employment in Iraq and Iran. He is reportedly giving highly evasive answers to investigators attempting to establish his exact motives and any potential terror links.

Sarthak Goswami has exposed the ugly truth behind the ethanol narrative.
He travelled to Byrnihat to find out why a town with fewer than one lakh residents is more polluted than Delhi, Ghaziabad, and even Lahore.
What he found was shocking: over 80 factories crammed into a small area, relentlessly pumping pollutants into the air.
The irony? Many of these factories produce ethanol—the very fuel being promoted as a solution to pollution.
Now the question is simple: can Nitin Gadkari answer these concerns with facts, instead of branding critics as anti-national?
#Bangladesh kills one #Hindu in every 2 days. Attached data is for May 26 but the rate same for last 2 years. Rape and land grab data are highly under reported. Bangladeshis refer Hindus as "Malaun" or untouchable. Hindu #women as considered as good to be violated.
Almost every Hindu exodus from Bangladesh is triggered by land grab and sexual torture. Islamists are on rampage since #Hasina's ouster. Violence in general peaked, economy destroyed and torture on Hindus skyrocketed.
After 79 years of independence, India has finally built its first homemade MRI machine.
Bengaluru startup VoxelGrids, backed by Zoho, spent 12 years developing a fully indigenous 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner. It skips the costly liquid helium used in traditional machines, making it around 40% cheaper to build and far more energy efficient.
The scanner is already up and running at Chandrapur Cancer Care Foundation near Nagpur, helping cut India's heavy reliance on imported medical equipment from global giants.
With India having only about 5,000 MRI machines for its entire population, this breakthrough could mean faster, cheaper scans for smaller hospitals and rural areas in the years ahead.
A proud moment for homegrown innovation.
She had no hands to hold a bow. No legs to stand on. Yet she found a way to rise higher than anyone imagined.
When Payal Nag lost all four limbs in an electrocution accident as a child, many believed her life was over. Poverty forced her parents to leave her at an orphanage because they simply could not afford the care she needed.
But Payal refused to let that be the end of her story.
She learnt to paint with her mouth, rebuilt her confidence one day at a time, and one video of para archer Sheetal Devi changed everything. It inspired her to dream of becoming an archer herself.
With customised equipment, incredible determination, and years of relentless practice, Payal mastered the sport without letting the absence of limbs define her.
Today, the same girl who was once written off has become the world's first quadruple amputee to win an international para archery gold medal.

🚨 HUGE! Mumbai Police have ARRESTED Fayaz Premji for allegedly planning to DISTRIBUTE 14,900 zinc phosphide-laced capsules, disguised as painkillers, during a Muharram procession.
Police allege the capsules could have targeted up to 30,000 people 🤯
Imagine you're on the 14th floor. A fire or earthquake strikes, lifts stop working, and you're alone with your child.
How do you escape?
An Indian company, Skydrop, has introduced a balcony safety cable system with free training for every user, offering a potential emergency evacuation option when every second matters.
High-rise societies spend crores on luxury amenities. Maybe it's time to invest just as seriously in life-saving safety solutions.
Let this be a lesson of what these people think of white people , in 2017 21 year old Hannah Cornelius was carjacked in Stellenbosch , South Africa .
Over several horrifying hours she was gang raped , stabbed repeatedly and had her head crushed with a rock after they had finished with her .
Her killers reportedly laughed in court as details were read out , her friend Cheslin who was with her was beaten nearly to death but survived .
Hannah's mother never recovered and walked into the sea and never returned .
This is the kind of evil that is happening even today in Britain as we have 1,000s of the same types of men allowed here . RIP Hannah
