The heavens declare the glory of God.
Psalm 19:3
The stars above and the galaxies are not making sense. They are just pouring out into the sky in a colossal display of fireworks.
Alan Watts
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
Psalm 8 🌙✨
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen...
@alwyn_lau Yes, people confuse churches with corporations. A career is not the goal of a Christian. The goal of a Christian is to “acquire the gift of the Holy Spirit” through humility and prayer. :)
@alwyn_lau@ishirubi :) Seriously, that’s the miserable burden of many modern Protestant churches: feeling obliged to reinvent the wheel of two thousand years of Christian legacy, while pretending they are reading the NT as if no one else ever had.
I’d rather quote the Fathers all the time than scholars. :)
I think you are trying to solve a problem that does not exist. This is how Vladimir Lossky (not a Father) put it about something similar in his book Orthodox Theology:
'Just as the Spirit is not inferior to Him from Whom It proceeds, just so woman is not inferior to man: for love demands equality and love alone wished this primordial polarization, source of all the diversity of the human species.'
And in another of his book:
'Christ is the head of His body, head of the Church, in the same sense in which the husband is the head of the single, unique body of the man and the woman in marriage'
So, to me women are denied leadership positions quite naturally, does not mean they are 'inferior'

This year I mostly wrote about professional topics (published elsewhere).
I plan to continue writing on Substack and finish my translation of The Cynics by A. Marienhof. It was already finished, but now I need to fine-tune it for publishing.

Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus is a Renaissance vision of beauty as a force that unites the earthly and the spiritual. Venus emerges from the sea as an embodiment of harmony.
Projecting words
Spoken words are perceived by the brain more effectively than written. Presenters frequently project what they are saying and go through it, reading. Perceptually this provokes constant switching of attention.
The most effective communication is spoken.
Next effective is written.
Least effective is spoken and written simultaneously mainly used to teach small children to read.

Do you still project words?
Willingly and ungrudgingly surrender part of your (unearned) success to people who were born with the wrong genes into the wrong families, in the areas with the wrong postcodes. It's not just noble, it's commonsensical. Donations and taxes aren't financial matters. First and foremost, they're issues of morality.
