LESPADA participated in ESA Day 2026 at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, engaging students on drug-abuse prevention and distributing The Truth About Drugs booklets. We also welcomed new volunteers.

LESPADA participated in a Youth Empowerment and Lung Cancer Awareness Workshop by CCSNI and Skyline University. I spoke on NGOs/CSOs’ role in curbing smoking. Participants also learned AI tools for awareness campaigns, using LESPADA to create a drug abuse sensitization video.

The Multi-Agency Task Force Committee on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking inspected the proposed Gaya Female Reformative Centre in Kano State to assess its facilities and readiness for the rehabilitation and reintegration of female residents.

As is my tradition, I conclude my last lecture with students with sensitization session on drug abuse. Today was no exception. My Level 300 ENG 3201 students had an engaging discussion & pledged to support drug abuse prevention.

The silence from the media on this matter is actually scary but we will not keep quiet. Imagine searching for your 16-year-old daughter for two years only to find out she was living inside a DSS facility the whole time with a serving officer named Ifeanyi Festus.

It is heartbreaking that her mother passed away from the trauma of waiting for a child that was being hidden by a state agent. It is sicker that he even called the father on New Year's Day to say he is ready to marry her after everything he put them through.

To the @OfficialDSSNG , you need to prove to Nigerians that your facility is not a sanctuary for predators by releasing Walida immediately and ensuring this officer faces the full weight of the law.

What the North is witnessing is a product of years of neglect, greed, wickedness, and corruption by the political class.

For every dime stolen from the coffers that is meant for education, this is the consequence.

For every dime stolen from the coffers that is meant for security, this is the consequence.

For every dime stolen from the coffers that is meant for healthcare, this is the consequence.

Northern political leaders did not only stole our present, they ensured the stole our future too.

Now, we are all here to live with the consequences.
