we got review bombed for supporting Palestine, so we doubled down - now we're UK's #1 rated burger joint.

i still remember when those 1 star reviews started coming in.

no comments, just stars. quiet but calculated.

took us a minute but we caught on - people were mad we stocked salaam cola over the mainstream stuff.

apparently supporting palestine with 10% of drink sales was "too political" for a burger joint.

funny thing is, when your meat guy, your suppliers, your staff and your customers all share the same values, staying quiet is the only unnatural thing.

so we went all in.

4 days. that's all it took.

dropped the brisket burger. partnered with muslim aid uk. gave 100% of profits to gaza relief. doubled down with salaam cola and gave them out for free.

£4k raised in a week.

but the real story? our community showed up hard. thousands of genuine 5 stars flooding in.

made me think about all the current standard of muslim business owners today:
• serving alcohol cause "business is business"
• hiding their prayer rooms
• trying to blend in with the crowd

when your values match your community's values, standing firm only makes you stronger.

that's why at simply smashed we do things different:
• open prayer room
• sisters only nights
• Quran in our content
• community projects

and you know what's cool?

other spots are starting to follow.

because sometimes the best dawah isn't preaching.

it's showing there's a better way to win.
