For most of history, these questions had clear answers. A farmer owned their plow. A carpenter owned their bench. A fisherman owned their net. Work and tools lived in the same hands; the value flowed to the maker. Then came the machine age, and the answers got complicated. Then came the platform age, and the answers got worse. Now we are entering an age where the tools themselves will think, work, and accumulate wealth.

Without a different foundation underneath, the answers will get catastrophic.
