Moving on from someone I gave my all to wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. I showed up, I tried, I stayed solid, and it still wasn’t enough for them. At some point you gotta accept when your effort isn’t appreciated and stop draining yourself trying to love someone who don’t show it back. I didn’t lose anything by letting go. I just stopped giving to someone who never knew how to be grateful.
You can have the purest intentions in the world, but if something isn’t meant for you, it won’t stay. Some people come into our lives and leave a mark we’ll never forget. Even with love, effort and the best intentions, not everyone is meant to stay forever. And as painful as it is, sometimes all we can do is let them go and be grateful for the moments we shared. It’s okay to lose people. Just never lose yourself trying to keep them. Because in the end, what matters most is that you were genuine, you loved sincerely and you stayed true to who you are.
when I feel unheard, I just stop speaking. it's not the healthiest trait but I rather reserve my energy for conversations with people who actively listen to me
