Here's what I think are the main issues with Basketball Godz Event Today and the solutions:
1. Top players are using 60 overalls or new builds to get easier matchups due to poorly implemented SBMM, allowing them to dominate the event.
Solution: Allow players to match with anyone instead of using strict SBMM for events. This would reduce players exploitation of the system.
2. The 12-hour continuous format discourages breaks (you cannot even walk out and walk back in without losing your streak), which promotes unhealthy play patterns as players can't take a break without risking their streak over the course of 12 hours.
Solution: Implement the old system of multiple servers with 4-hour windows and allow your streak to stay as long as you do not lose. This allows players to participate at different times and take breaks without losing progress better for all.
3. The event is supposed to be competitive but runs on casual settings (people are hitting every shot), allowing Zens and 3 black plates teams to dominate the leaderboards.
Solution: Use Proving Grounds settings for competitive events to ensure a level playing field and reward skill over exploits.
4. Teams with high overalls and ranks face long wait times, disadvantaging them in the event due to fewer games played.
Solution: Allow the matchmaking with a wider range of players. You can prioritize matching similarly skilled players when possible, but reduce wait times by expanding the pool if necessary. We can’t have people waiting 10-20 min to play.
