🚨🎙️ Jamie Carragher on the situation between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus at Portugal:
"Listen, we’ve all seen this movie before, haven’t we? It’s the exact same script we saw at Manchester United, and now Jorge Jesus is the one being forced to direct it with the national team.
You’ve got a manager trying to move a team forward, looking at the tactical big picture, and a 41-year-old superstar who simply refuses to accept that Father Time is undefeated. Being benched against Norway and walking straight down the tunnel without looking at the fans or his teammates—it’s selfish, plain and simple.
Jorge Jesus showed real backbone by leaving him out. Look at Portugal’s squad—they’ve got Gonçalo Ramos, João Félix, world-class talent in every position. But instead of talking about a good 2-1 win away from home, the entire Portuguese FA is having to fly in to hold peace talks because one man’s ego got bruised.
Ronaldo is an absolute legend of the game, nobody takes that away from him, but he’s holding this Portuguese generation hostage. If he really loved his country the way he says he does, he’d step aside, accept a role off the bench, and stop making every single international break all about Cristiano Ronaldo."
@Footballogue C un miracle qui se produit q une fois s dans le football ..le nombre de joueurs dans ces mêmes trajectoires qui se retrouvent soit dans des championnats mineurs soit au chômage
