@lowtheband@lowtheband is there anywhere besides twitter that I can keep up with your local live gig schedule. Twitter is getting unbearable and I'd be off it wasn't for the window into who is playing where / when.
@useful_noise Thomas Abban is incredible and for some reason flying way under the local radar. Blew the doors him off the Icehouse last week with LA Buckner and crew playing behind him. About 30 people in the crowd.
@martin_devaney You could work as much or as little as you like. Approx $200 per/day. 6.5 hr. work day. Bring your guitar, there is always time for a 15 minute setlist.
This clip of Vanilla Fudge playing “Keep Me Hanging On” in 1968 has been in my regular rotation lately. I’m convinced it’s the original “dudes rock!” moment. The purity of the dudes and their rocking is unmatched.
@natharvie @lowtheband Your last album was really beautiful. I don't often give an album multiple listens over the course of a week but that one just got me. And needless to say, the world needs more Alan!
In 1977, media prophet Marshall McLuhan discussed CIA and FBI surveillance, and then turned it into one of the most mind-bending riffs on identity in the digital age I've ever heard.
EVERY TIME. THA BEST! THE ABSOLUTE DIRTIEST, FUNKIEST, GROOVIEST, FILTHIEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN (post bitches brew).
This was better than iPhones & electric cars? this is everything & nothing all at once!
There is nobody at all like Gil Scott-Heron. I love what he did with his music so much. He was always sending beautiful messages out to people & speaking out about how awful things were back then. He was an incredible poet & musician whose legacy still lives on and always will❤️
@Zachsamaphone@richmattson Correct. This platform is one of the few ways to stay up to date on the latest in local shows / releases. Too bad there isn't a "music only" filter available.
