Because setting boundaries is a skill acquired by those who are secure within themselves. Think about it, some mfs go their whole lives insecure within themselves. If you lack self-awareness which is unfortunately common, & you don’t know who you are truly, how are you to ever know what You Truly are willing to go for/allow. Human beings are extremely malleable when they lack true identity. If you can’t figure out your Identity for yourself, trust* the world will waste no time giving you one- (the birth of a follower; herd mentality, the crowd thinks for you). And thus, if the crowd decides you should be okay with them touching you like this, you’ll do everything in your power to agree with them, not fight. As you grow up, you should be interrogating your own beliefs more and more to make sure they actually belong to you. But that shits advanced- there’s beaucoup adults that never got a handle on self-awareness, let alone if you consider the victim (Reggie in this case) was a kid. Kids whole worlds be community-hunting/wanting to be a part of something at those ages. The poor souls don’t stand a chance against adults even halfway-decent at manipulation. ‘It’s not so easy’ was really the short way to say all this.
