All I ever wanted to do was talk excitedly about my hobbies with other people. I don't need to be reminded of all this political shit, it violates my peace.
But sometimes, you have to do things you don't want to, to be left the fuck alone. It's nature.
Yes. They violate the customer/business unspoken contract, expect YOU to foot the bill for their failures, and want to pump your stomach to sell it back to you.
You're literally a fucking idiot if you defend an all digital future. SO many people will be priced out of gaming. I can afford gaming at any cost, but i can not and will not justify spending double/triple due to corporate greed. Sony want to create a monopoly. They're scum.
@Rec_A_Dork It's definitely not a solution. They license each other all the time, so now they want to pass it off to the customer.
It's not okay. MGS almost disappeared over this bullshit.
@hawkdeltaX30@Tostky@TheMG3D OP said "licenses". So if we're expected to invest in a guarantee, then we better make sure they're not pumping our stomachs to sell it back to us later. That's all I'm trying to say.
Or they could just not kill physical games and we go through none of this.
@jimjustgames If I can't have a disc, then the best thing they can do is guarantee that it's not being removed from my library.
Licenses are revoked all the time. They do it to each other in the biz, why would you believe you're already safe?
@DragonSireMods@SynnFrost@TheMG3D Sony already said "fuck your backward compatibility". This is why I held onto my PS3. This isn't some grand "gotcha"; entropy takes all.
You might not like what he's saying, I don't like what he's saying, but he's not wrong. Especially about consumer digital protections.
That's the only way I'll ever embrace a digital future. Of course, if it turns into Netflix for games, then I'm getting off the bus no matter what.
Analyst Says Sonyโs Move to Digital-Only Games Was Inevitable, Compares It to Apple Removing CD Drives
Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad believes Sonyโs move to all-digital was only a matter of time.
He compared it to Apple removing CD drives from its laptops in 2008. At the time, many people complained, but Ahmad said, โNot a single person is complaining about it today.โ
Ahmad also believes Sony was always going to reach this point, saying, โIf not PS6, then PS7,โ because the console market is now โnearly entirely digital.โ
However, he says the bigger issue isnโt the end of physical games. Instead, the industry should focus on improving digital consumer rights, including game ownership, refunds, gifting, and family sharing.
@AgreeingBook13 I remember getting so infuriated with the stealth system glitching out, I rage uninstalled it in front of a few friends. It was a good laugh.
Remember when conservative Christians demanded censorship of art and liberals would make fun of them and rightfully call out the absurdity of thinking seeing tits on a statue or painting would make people behave sexually immoral?
