@SchwartzChron @DugBegley@HoustonChron Now, if #Houston had its own transportation department, we wouldn’t have this issue. #HOUDOT would ensure the money was spent on time and on the right types of transportation for our city. #houcouncil

The @LINK_Houston report also finds that a quarter of those votes in favor of the plan as-is came from two special interest groups who are far more concerned with the city's prosperity than the health and prosperity of those who will be displaced: @GHPartnership and @TAGHouston.
A well-researched article by @joysewing shows how freeways destroyed Houston’s Black middle class. Yet many insist the I-45 expansion is beneficial and needed. For whom? Have we learned nothing from history? #Houston@StopTxDotI45@makeI45better

We've been advocating alongside Gulfton residents, @myconcom, & others for a @METROHouston circulator for a few years. It’s great to join and celebrate the launch of the service, which will improve access to opportunity!

I just submitted my comment & survey for the NHHIP (I-45 expansion). These are federal funds & belong to the people. The people should decide how those dollars should be invested & they should have input on all aspects. Deadline to submit is today 4 PM. #Houston#stoptxdoti45
You know what doesn’t help air quality? More cars on wider highways. Our children deserve better. Sad to see another day where it’s not safe for those with asthma to go outside.
RE: @TxDOTHouston I-45 project, @SylvesterTurner says "A survey is not public engagement. Further, this survey is framing a false choice,. We do not intend to play their game... The take it or lose it position being offered by TxDOT is not helpful in getting this project done."
.@HGACmpo TAC members told the @TxDOTHouston in their July 14 that “there are many alternatives to a freeway,” and that local jurisdictions must have a say in the planning processes from the start.
