I’m 28

➔ I’ve built a $100k/yr agency
➔ Led teams in $100M companies
➔ About to launch an Ecom brand

All while working a 9-5

But this isn’t even the full picture

The truth is...

My journey was brutally difficult.

Ever since I was 5

I felt like I was playing school on hard mode

• Writing
• Reading
• Studying

I put countless hours in, only to get poor results.

My teachers thought I'd amount to nothing

“Learn a trade” they said

That’s British for you’re not good enough.

And if I’m being honest, I thought they were right

Until at 17

I was finally diagnosed with dyslexia

(A learning disability which makes language painfully challenging)

But, instead of identifying with it.

I spent months in denial.

I refused to accept that my brain was 'different'

Because as the son of South Asian parents, learning difficulties simply don’t exist

The answer is always ‘Just work harder’

To escape this nightmare, I looked for things I enjoyed:

• Selling sweets
• Flipping stuff on eBay
• Renting rooms on Airbnb

I was hooked

I loved building offers people wanted

And in that process realised something

I was making more money than some of my teachers.

Maybe this was my real calling?

But I had to confront reality

My parents didn’t approve

They wanted a stable path for me

And knowing how much they’d sacrificed

I decided to honour them and meet in the middle.

So I studied my backside off through high school

And managed to scrape my way into law school

Whilst at the same time

I was learning how to become an entrepreneur

• Invested in self-education
• Did unpaid work for mentors
• And started building my own businesses

But guess what?

I failed.

Big time.

More specifically, 3 failed ventures in 5 years

• Online business selling gift items
• Ecom brand selling homeware
• Info-product business teaching self-development

It was soul-crushing.

The comments of my teachers and parents came back to haunt me.

"You’ll never make it"
"You’re not made for this?"
"Why are you wasting your time?"

I'd seen my mentors make it work.

Same ideas and markets

Why didn't it work for me?

I looked hard in the mirror.

The common denominator?

It was me.

Simply put, I needed to level up

And at the same time, I also needed stability.

So, I gave in and started looking for a job.

And somehow in my search, I lucked out.

Found one at a global consultancy

Which gave me an opportunity to:

• Work with the largest brands in the world
• Build D2C skills on someone else’s dime
• Learn from industry experts

The best part?

I was getting paid well for it.

It was the best apprenticeship I could’ve asked for

And after 4 hard years at the job,

• Doing 9-7 hours
• Working with clients in Eu, Asia, NA
• Generating over 7 figures for household brands

I finally decided I was ready to get back on the horse again.

"Surely, I’d make it now with everything I know”

So I started a venture with a friend of mine.

But 6 months in?

$0.

"Not again..." I thought.

All my past failures came racing back to me

• Have I wasted my time?
• Should I give up my dream?
• Maybe I’m really not cut out for this

No.

My business partner and I had invested 100s of hours.

And he'd just quit his job.

We had no choice but to make it work.

So we grinded even harder.

• Countless networking event
• Hours refining our pitch
• Building out systems

Then day 175 came.

It happened.

It finally happened.

We signed our first client.

And boy was it a big one.

They were worth 9 figures.

All those countless failures hadn’t gone to waste.

It brought us to this very moment.

Fast forward to today?

• I have 5 team members
• My business makes 6 figures
• About to launch an Ecom brand

The best part?

I can easily quit working 9-5 now.

So why am I sharing this story?

I want to give you hope if you’re reading this.

Whether you’re a 9-5er

“The market is saturated”

Yeah but:

60% don’t care
20% are DM bros
10% have bad products

It’s not saturated if you’re continuously improving.

• Stop learning
• Seek comfort
• Aim for ‘balance’
• Consume not produce

For me, that means:

Asking more questions.

How to get what you want?

Master your tolerance for:

• Discomfort
• Uncertainty
• Delayed rewards

The more you can handle, the greater your chances of success.

I used to admire people who never quit.

Now I admire people who know when to quit.

At 20, I made $34,745 by renting out my bedroom on Airbnb.

Why?

I ran out of money at university.

So I’d:

• Clean
• Sleep on floors
• Study & repeat

I used the extra cash to test business ideas.

Most flopped—but each failure taught me something.

The real win?

Betting on myself early.

It’s not:

It's divergent + critical thinking.
