It'd be really groovy if artists' descendants could stop being so litigious and creating a culture where the next generation is sued for taking inspiration. Fair enough if an artist thinks they've been done wrong while alive but invoking "legacy" reeks of a cash grab.
@seaninsound The ticket splits artists receive, especially from these large promoters that prey on small artists trying to get their first shows. 80/20 on top of exclusivity clauses AND minimum attendance requirements means the promoters do f all and take all the revenue. insane.
ITS OUT! ALL MY FRIENDS ARE HIGH IS FINALLY OUT!
I wrote the lyrics a year ago, recorded it, hated it, ripped it up and started again. Rinse and repeat about three times and we get here and I can finally stop thinking about it!
Hope you enjoy xx

Just found out that private equity firms buy the rights to songs and soundtracks like any other asset class. I understand the value but fuck me I hate the way composers and songwriters make no money so are forced to sell to these soulless ghouls
