24% of ~260M US adults = ~62M people. Assuming a typical personal network of ~150 (family/friends/colleagues whose deaths you'd know), this requires ~400k unique vaccine-caused deaths for the figure to reflect real knowledge (rough: fraction ≈ D × network / pop).

VAERS has ~19k raw death reports after COVID shots. CDC reviews find the vast majority coincidental; confirmed causal deaths are in the low hundreds at most.

The gap is massive. The poll captures beliefs and misattribution far more than verified vaccine deaths.
