Die britische Grenzschutzbehörde „Border Force“ nahm sie in britischen Gewässern auf. Ein Beamter sagte ihm sogar: „Sie sind auf dem falschen Boot.“

Das ist die Realität, die das Establishment Ihnen vorenthalten will.

That, my dear friend, is not a coincidence. It is mathematical paper genius. Yes, I said paper.
Here's why:

The ratio isn’t actually 1:1.4.
It’s 1:√2 where √2 ≈ 1.414213562.

√2 is the exact aspect ratio of DIN A / ISO 216 paper (A4, A5, A3…). Yup, that's right, the metric one that everybody except the USA uses.

Fold an A4 sheet of paper in half and you get an A5. Same shape, just rotated 90°. Fold again → A6, then A7, A8, etc.

Works backwards too..
In the case of paper A0, it is defined as having length and width such that the area is exactly 1 m², just in the ratio 1:√2. Simply Beautiful.

The ratio never changes and this is EXACTLY what iPhone Duo needs!

Closed: 84.1 × 117.8 mm → ~1.40
Open: 164.6 × 117.8 mm → ~1.40
Height stays. Width doubles.

And this is the only ratio this works with. Here's the proof:

Let a rectangle have sides 1 and r > 1 (wlog).
Halve the long side. The new sides are 1 and r/2.
For the new rectangle to be the same shape, the ratios must match:
1 / (r/2) = r / 1
=> 2/r = r
=> r^2 = 2.
=> r = ±√2,
where the negative solution is simply a length in the opposite direction and can thus be ignored.

This is the unique positive number to do this. The only ratio that stays the same when you double one side or halve the other is the diagonal-to-side ratio of a square. That number is √2.

It's why metric DIN paper is the ideal paper shape.
And it's why the iPhone Duo is the ideal Foldable shape.

The decimals after 1.4 can be dealt with / hidden with a few pixels. That's basically a rounding error. Annoyingly but not a big deal, you can't machine to that many decimal places anyway.

This is exactly why Apple doesn’t do live launch events.

IShowSpeed was livestreaming with Apple CEO John Ternus and wanted to show the new iPhone Duo to his audience.

Speed first tried taking a selfie using the under display camera, but as soon as he attempted to take the photo, Ternus took the phone and switched to the external main camera so the photo would come out better.

Then came the biggest software glitch.

Ternus took a photo and tried to drag and transfer it. It didn’t work.

He tried again. Still nothing.

And there was no error message or clear indication of what had gone wrong. The failed transfer seemingly went unnoticed, and they simply moved on.

Later, Speed again tried using the under display camera for a selfie and once again Ternus took the phone, switched it and flipped to the main cameras for the selfie.

Even Ternus hands were shaking during these moments.

But that wasn’t the end...

Earlier in the livestream, while Speed was being shown the phone by Apple staff:

• Zooming into the Netflix video didn't properly go full screen
• Pause and playback behaved inconsistently
• Took time to rotate
• Changing previews showed visible delays

All of this happened during an unscripted livestream.

This is exactly the risk of showing a brand new device live like you can't edit out the glitches.

If these kinds of moments happened during a major Apple launch event, imagine the impact on public perception and potentially even the company's share price.

After all, even the iPhone X's Face ID failure during its live unveiling became one of the most talked about moments from the launch.
