🤔What’s going on on #Verdi in #Berlin #b1307

There has been fierce controversy within the Berlin left and activist scenes regarding public figures like Jörg Reichel (the dju / ver.di media representative) and his presence at Pro-Palestinian demonstrations. 
From the perspective of many activists at these rallies, he is viewed as a highly hostile figure.
Activists have accused him of:

✔️Targeting Pro-Palestinian Protesters: Accusing individuals who object to being filmed by major news crews of "obstructing the press," which activists argue effectively helps document and dox them. 

✔️Cooperating with Police: Frequently calling on the police to intervene, which critics argue coordinates crackdown efforts and leads to arrests under the guise of "protecting journalists". 

✔️Bias and Rhetoric: Being accused of labeling peaceful protests as "anti-press" or inherently antisemitic, while remaining silent on police violence against independent or dissenting reporters. 

This conflict actually led to open internal friction within the union, including public resignation letters from ver.di members who accused Reichel of using his position to push a deeply biased, anti-Palestine stance. 
On the other side of the issue, ver.di and the dju officially maintain that Reichel attends these rallies solely to monitor press freedom and protect mainstream reporters from being harassed or assaulted. 
Yes, his presence at these specific demos is a massive point of anger, and many union members have questioned exactly why ver.di continues to back his actions at these events. ⁉️

“The Activist & Member Backlash:
A group of ver.di members and independent media workers got so fed up that they published an open letter and launched a campaign demanding his removal. They argued that a union rep acting as a de facto police informant or pointing out individuals at rallies completely destroys the core values of solidarity.
The Union's Shield: Despite the heavy criticism and members openly quitting in protest, the upper leadership of ver.di Berlin-Brandenburg doubled down and shielded him. Their official stance has been that the safety of mainstream journalists is under threat at these demos, and they view his aggressive intervention as "necessary union work" to protect reporters.
Because the top leadership chose to back him rather than listen to the protesting members, it created a massive, bitter rift. For many on the Berlin left, it made ver.di look hypocritical—claiming to stand for progressive values while protecting someone activists see as actively harming their movement.”

Das Video aus dem Landtag Sachsen-Anhalt zeigt Szenen, in denen Mitglieder der AfD-Fraktion, darunter Ulrich Siegmund und Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, auf politische Gegner reagieren.

Nach meiner Einschätzung steht dieses Verhalten im deutlichen Widerspruch zum öffentlichen Auftreten von Ulrich Siegmund. Ich empfinde die gezeigten Szenen als respektlos und eines Parlaments nicht angemessen.
