@BlueCh @ktsmj1004 They don’t have contact with punch when he’s fed in the back. That’s the whole point to try and break the bond with the zookeeper so that he can integrate more fully into the troop. Although it is heartbreaking to watch.

@Petswithaura Of course it’s AI. But punch is not stupid or spoiled. He’s the equivalent of a three year-old toddler, raising himself without parents. There’s nothing stupid or spoiled about that !

@YVemula5063 It’s so sad to see them have no interaction with him. I’m sure that’s what they’ve been told to do since the zoo is trying to wean him from “ his dads”. Even though I know they say this is for his success with the troop. It’s still hard to watch .

@PresentingPunch Regardless of what the zoo or anyone else says punch has to be having some sort of depression. Which I would expect since his world and routine was turned upside down. I hope he soon adapts to the changes and does well.

@michellemcohil1 I think it’s very difficult for him to stay away from the babies when there’s so many scattered all over and they’re constantly approaching him. The zoo states that the baby boom was partially for punch. But he’s rarely allowed to interact with them sadly.

@YVemula5063 As much as I’m cheering on punch, I don’t see him ever being fully accepted into the troop. Family means everything in this group and he doesn’t have one. The fact that he has friends and playmates does not mean that he’s been accepted. It’s much harder for a male .
