I’m showing a hitherto un-shown audio-visual piece at this here exhibition in November, in Brighton, alongside some (one, to me) familiar faces.
Come on down. It’s free ‘n dat.
(Don’t worry, I’ll remind you about it relentlessly over the coming weeks.)
After 3 months of silence, chasing and ambiguity, my thesis corrections were finally approved today.... The whole system and surrounding culture of this stage of PhDs needs some serious attention. Not good enough.
Academics seem to shy away from using the title Doctor, too showy? Not for me. If the option is there I’ll use it, if not I’ll use a different airline/hotel/social media. Oh yeah, I passed my doctorate with minor corrections today. If this 48 y/o dyslexic can do it, anyone can

Today was spent trying to subtly insert Status Quo song titles into my case study chapter about the sonic properties of Manx Shearwaters on the Isle of Rum. Managed two.
After a couple of days of editing to reduce my thesis word count I am only 22000 words over. Thing is though, when I started the edit I was 21000 words over. Hmm
