Malacise

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Leaflit Isekai and Tensei are separate tropes as well. They just happen to pair well together, or act as a cheat code for people that can't be bothered to develop a young character's mind.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@jmgwritten I picked up a handful of the series for cheap, some were 25 cents, read the first one, then decided to not bother with the rest. I thought 30-40% of the book could have been cut out.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@TotalNEET @gibberishnumber @kenshirotism Well Skip Beat! is shoujo mostly from a female mc's pov, so if that's a deciding factor for you best not bother. It's one of my favourite series though and the mc is entertaining and rather endearing. Not afraid to hit heavy subject matter either.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@TotalNEET @kenshirotism I recommend giving Skip Beat! a read. I don't pay attention to intended audience; I just read or watch what looks interesting, and there are a lot of gems out there.

@BennyDiver69420 @eksarria @kittischmitti @batman_really What does Geralt being a manwhore have to do with being disloyal? He never cheated on anyone. Triss used magic in some way to seduce him originally. Triss betrays Yennefer multiple times as a friend, and Yennefer as well as Ciri and Geralt to the lodge. + her game actions.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@20Starter_Blue @JaeGamez May I ask what about Coen you like more than Geralt? Personally, I found Coen could have benefitted from having more personality set in stone instead of being so player driven. The bits that were hardwired were decent, like his guilt and his family drive, but elsewise pretty weak

[Malacise @Malacise]

@eksarria @kittischmitti @BennyDiver69420 @batman_really Yeah, the first time it happened Yen bitch slaps Triss in front of everyone in Aretuza. After the next betrayal to the lodge, I don't know how Yen can stand to be near Triss, and that's just her book disloyalty, if we count the games I'm surprised Yen doesn't flay her alive.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@tslice261 @SpawnYaardReply Imo the characters and plot were underbaked. Too little about Coen is defined in stone. It's one of the problems when you have too much player choice. It works wonders in a story with a defined mc, but if you can be a bloodthirsty killer or a moralist those can't end up the same

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Leaflit @its_the_teaman @whimsy87 If we include literary arts. Lot of spite going on.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@treasonoustris @TDomhnaill @GladeRiddenDeer That's actually a reason to have them if you don't have magic at your disposal.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Pirat_Nation After playing it, the time system was fine. The biggest issues were weak characterization, anachronism, lack of narrative depth, and failure to provide narrative resolution, especially after the final boss. They should have made a definitive Coen especially with a sequel in mind.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Odb1079711 @bar33426576 @DeMickyD It's possible if you're skilled enough, but it would take forever. I used to kill lv 30+ monsters at lv 10 just to see if I could. 1 hit and you die, the fights take absolutely forever, and you can't even use the loot until you lv up. Pure for pure ego reasons.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@kross415 @Wilhem_Ivorsson Agreed. Anca uses the age card on Coen's advances but never asks him to stop as far as I remember. Then, after the font, makes Coen think she's accepting his advances to be together, bangs him, then says jk lol not really interested. Lacra actually helps build Coen up.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Blazn_Redd @TheGingerPerks I have the classic "Save items until you need them" syndrome, so I can't recall ever using a decoction. Usually i just dodge and use igni with timed aggression on the blade. Yrden for wraiths, aard for flies/alghouls or instakills, Axii for the lols/shields if i remember.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@TheGingerPerks I've never had an issue with it. Just need to learn its rhythm. Sometimes you just need to die until you learn how to stop dying.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Blazn_Redd @TheGingerPerks I've never found a reason to use Quen, not even on deathmarch.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@zuzumizuchi This has happened pretty frequently lately. People misuse terms then others see the misuse and think it's correct, and now we have a bunch of comments confidently being wrong.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@khaira4df @skitzohousecat @ShvartzCarl What was the point of illustrating that people are barbarous? That some of us have experienced racism and don't deal with it by resorting to violence immediately. If you can't understand that from my anecdote that was delivered in response to your comment, idk what to tell you.

[Malacise @Malacise]

@khaira4df @skitzohousecat @ShvartzCarl I once had some dude on a bike spot me and just start swearing at me because I dared be on the street as a white man, in Canada, right outside my home I'd lived at for 6 years and never bothered no one. I didn't cry. I got ready just in case he decided to attack then went omw

[Malacise @Malacise]

@Wilhem_Ivorsson I would take Lacra over Anca, Crake, and pretty much all of Coen's ungrateful family. She is actually kind of sweet if you treat her like a person.
