Thailand deploys more troops, armoured vehicles to occupied territory

Thai forces have reportedly violated the existing ceasefire agreement, following the deployment of armoured vehicles and additional troops to occupied Cambodian territory near the O Smach border crossing in Oddar Meanchey province.

It has been 69 days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military.

Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to release them immediately, so that they may be safely reunited with their families in accordance with international humanitarian law.

On Saturday Morning, 04 October 2025, the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia facilitated the visit of the Interim Observer Team (IOT), led by Malaysia, along with its members, to inspect the actual locations that affected by using Jet fighter to drop MK84 bomb in Thmor Duan village Kork Morn Commune Bonteay Umbil District Oddar Meanchey Province , in order to observe, verify, and report after the ceasefire came into effect.

It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make tireless efforts, using all available mechanisms for Thai military to release and return our 18 soldiers as quickly and safely as possible.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence, and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will never abandon any of our troops under any circumstances.

The North Thnot Chum temple is a single-towered religious monument of the pre-Angkorian era, possibly dating from the 7th century. Built primarily of bricks, this Hindu temple is constructed on raised ground and adorned with smooth sandstones and rough black laterite stones in some areas.
