Plague outbreak in Russia's Irkutsk region: hospitals quarantined, mandatory mask-wearing introduced in factories

At least four municipal hospitals (Nos. 1, 3, and 10, plus a children's hospital) and a local maternity ward in Irkutsk have been placed under quarantine. Medical staff are speaking openly about the plague; however, Russian authorities stated today that no emergency incident had occurred at the anti-plague institute—where a test tube had reportedly broken.

Test results have not confirmed an infection in the case of the deceased woman.

➡️ Major events in the city have been cancelled.

➡️ So far, 197 people who had contact with the woman—who died of pneumonia—have been identified; 189 of them have been hospitalized.

➡️ According to media reports, the ambulances transporting these individuals are being escorted by FSB units.

➡️ A temporary mask mandate has been introduced at the Irkutsk aluminum plant in Shelekhov as a "preventive measure."

➡️ Pneumonic plague is the most severe, rapid-onset, and dangerous form of the disease. Unlike common (bubonic) plague, which is transmitted via flea bites, pneumonic plague spreads from person to person through droplet infection—via coughing, sneezing, or even normal conversation. The incubation period is only 1 to 3 days (sometimes just a few hours). The disease begins abruptly with high fever, severe headache, bloody sputum, shortness of breath, and the rapid development of severe pneumonia. Without immediate antibiotic treatment (within the first 24 hours of symptom onset), the mortality rate is nearly 100%.

And yes, the Defense Forces will close this current window of opportunity for the enemy through countermeasures, including rearmament. That takes time. How much? It depends on a number of factors – I won’t say more for now.

The front is difficult. The russian war machine keeps pushing and will continue to push, but we are destroying it at an increasing rate.

The army has hardened. Now it is time for the home front to grow up as well. Do not believe in illusions or miracles. We must rely on our own strength and on one another. That is the only way we will preserve our state and our Motherland.

And the shack these jackals are offering us under a white flag will be burned down on the very first dark night.

Those who understand, will understand.

We will stand. Moscow will fall.”

I could also write, "the whole world watched this live," but we can see that news from Ukraine has long been out of focus.

There are many reasons for this. It is not only people's "fatigue" from the war, but also the fact that social networks, particularly X, have started artificially suppressing the reach (pessimizing) of posts on military and political topics, especially regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.

Furthermore, Russia has recently radically transformed its propaganda and information warfare. From straightforward propaganda, the Kremlin has moved to the large-scale use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and agent networks. Their primary role today is to constantly blur the boundaries of truth as much as possible, create artificial information noise, and systematically carry out "mass reporting" so that automated safety algorithms block accounts preemptively or impose shadow bans.

That is why it is so important to keep writing, reading, and sharing news about Ukraine.

And that is why I sincerely thank everyone - journalists, politicians, OSINT researchers, bloggers, photographers, and volunteers - who continue to document Russia’s war crimes, conduct investigations and analysis, and report the truth.

Перед отъездом из Москвы министр иностранных дел Германии г. фон-Риббентроп сделал сотруднику ТАСС следующее заявление:

«Мое пребывание в Москве опять было кратким, к сожалению, слишком кратким. В следующий раз я надеюсь пробыть здесь больше. Тем не менее мы хорошо использовали эти два дня. Было выяснено следующее:

1. Германо-советская дружба теперь установлена окончательно.

2. Обе страны никогда не допустят вмешательства третьих держав в восточно-европейские вопросы.

3. Оба государства желают, чтобы мир был восстановлен и чтобы Англия и Франция прекратили абсолютно бессмысленную и бесперспективную борьбу против Германии.

4. Если однако в этих странах возьмут верх поджигатели войны, то Германия и СССР будут знать, как ответить на это».

Министр указал далее на достигнутое вчера между правительством Германии и правительством СССР соглашение об обширной экономической программе, которая принесет выгоду обеим державам.

В заключение г. фон-Риббентроп заявил: «Переговоры происходили в особенно дружественной и великолепной атмосфере. Однако прежде всего я хотел бы отметить исключительно сердечный прием, оказанный мне Советским Правительством и в особенности г.г. Сталиным и Молотовым».

The suspected organizer of the failed drone attack on Leipzig Airport is Russian Oleg Levushkin, according to the British newspaper "The Telegraph."
