I am Malak from Gaza 🇵🇸
A mother of children and the wife of an injured man, carrying the responsibility of supporting my family under extremely difficult hum
This is me, my husband, and my son. This is our daily life. This is the hardship we live through every single day. Despite everything, I still haven't found anyone who is truly able to support or donate to help my injured husband, my little son who is suffering from severe chest infections, or the baby I am expecting in just three months.
We need your help. Dear compassionate people, we are going through incredibly difficult times. My husband urgently needs surgery, my son needs medical treatment, and my unborn baby needs care. At the same time, I struggle every day just to prepare food over a fire because we have no cooking gas.
Today, we are living without peace or safety. All I hope for is to find someone willing to stand beside us and help us so we can have the chance to live with dignity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please don't turn away from us—we truly need your kindness and support now more than ever.
With love and gratitude from all of us, my family and I send you our love.
Thank you. With love from Gaza. ❤️https://t.co/ZZuNtiE0tX
A Message from Umm Ahmad, My Husband's Mother, to Everyone with a Kind Heart 💔😢
Today, I want to share the heartfelt words of my husband's mother, a woman whose heart has been broken by the pain and loss this war has brought.
This war has burdened her with the suffering of both of her sons: Ahmad, my injured husband, and Baraa, her youngest son, who now lives every day with a wound that will never fully heal.
Baraa is a 13-year-old boy from Gaza. During the latest bombing in northern Gaza, he was struck directly in the eye and lost it. Since that day, his life has changed completely.
He was the beloved child of our family, full of dreams and laughter. Today, he stands in front of the mirror with only one eye, crying because he cannot accept the way he looks after his injury. He asks, "Will I stay like this forever? Will I always have a disfigured face?"
Baraa needs a prosthetic eye to help restore his confidence and allow him to live with dignity. The cost of a prosthetic eye is between $800 and $1,200 USD, an amount far beyond our family's ability to afford while living through displacement, poverty, and the harsh conditions of life in tents.
With tears in her eyes, Umm Ahmad pleads:
"Please help my son, Baraa. He can no longer bear to look at himself in the mirror. Every day he breaks down in tears. I don't want him to grow up believing that this war stole not only his eye, but also his future and his smile."
And Baraa has a simple message for you:
"Please help me. I don't want anything more than a prosthetic eye. I want to live like other children. I want to look at myself without crying."
I personally heard these words from Umm Ahmad and from Baraa, and I could not hold back my tears. Their suffering is beyond words—from my husband's injuries, to Baraa's pain, to the hardship of daily life in displacement camps and repeated displacement.
If you are able to help in any way, whether through a donation or by sharing this message, please do not hesitate. Your kindness could help restore hope to a child who has lost an eye but has not lost hope in the compassion of others.
From my family, from Baraa, and from me, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support. May God bless everyone who reaches out to help, and may Baraa never have to face this difficult journey alone. 🤲🇵🇸
