⚠️ My availability will be reduced from June 20th to July 15th.
I’ll still be accepting projects, but with limited capacity, so some commissions may be affected.
If you’re planning to work with me, I’d recommend booking before or after that period.
If you’re looking for a more consistent collaboration (monthly or similar), feel free to reach out. Those projects will be prioritized
Before making the thumbnail, there is a creative process behind it, where you think of the idea to explain what the map is about, even if the result has a realistic or AI look, the creative process is there, because AI is not creative.
It is true that in some cases the client themselves sends you a reference from another game, so it should not come out as similar.
Some patterns are colors and compositions, the easiest and quickest thing is to change the colors and that's it, but the composition often affects it as well.
Epic Games is aware of this and according to them they want to fix it.
If you remember, more than a year ago this type of game mode became extremely popular. It was actually pretty easy to get CCU, but almost every map eventually died over time.
A few months ago, we decided to run an experiment:
what would happen if, after the map was basically dead, we only updated the thumbnail and the title to try bringing some traffic back?
The highest peak the map had reached in the last 3 months was 351 CCU.
After updating the thumbnail and title, the map managed to surpass 640 CCU.
Almost a 2x growth:
351 CCU → 640 CCU
