It’s 6:45 and I’m seriously considering just going to bed. Eff you, remote learning. I blame you for this absolute exhaustion.

This week I made my Mythology students sort themselves into their Hogwarts houses…

…just because I could.

Deleting old text threads and I'm currently revisiting a ton of conversations from Spring 2020 - when Covid was erupting the first time. It's honestly giving me anxiety all over again.

Tomorrow starts the last week of what may end up being the toughest year of my career, but also the most enlightening. Here's hoping my students learned something from me this year - and maybe they also picked up some history along the way. #lovefirst #everythingelsesecond

A student just submitted a Big Lebowski meme on a writing assignment. I think he should get bonus points.

I’ve gotten a handful of apology messages from students this week concerning their poor academic performance and inability to motivate themselves this year. It absolutely breaks my heart. I just wish I could do more. 💔

I was thinking about how much I hate giving “participation grades.” Then I exchanged “participation grades” with “XP”, and everything changed 😳🐉⚔️

@mrsbyarshistory PREACH!!

At @jkirk___ 's suggestion, I asked my students what they missed most and least about "normal" school. I got a lot of open and honest responses that included this gem. #BlackFridayLunchLines

Capitol riot suspect Eric Munchel, dubbed "zip tie guy," to be released from jail pending trial.

As a public defender, I represented a client charged with stealing detergent. Held in on $3000 bail he could not afford.

I know we’ve been governed via Twitter for the past 4 years but Twitter isn’t ACTUALLY the government. Being banned from a privately owned platform is not censorship. 🤦🏻‍♀️

After I was shot, I fought to regain all that I lost—from walking to speaking to being able to serve my country.

Now, 10 years later—as we react to an attack on our democracy—I’m sharing what I’ve learned about finding the determination to move ahead. https://t.co/GC0tqqEQxT

[Stacey Abrams @staceyabrams]

While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.

This afternoon I held my last after-hours AP World History lecture. These kids have been working really hard all semester long, so today we played #AmongUs. It might have been the best hour I've spent with them all semester.
