Behind every sleek argument, polished presentation, or cool legal moment people see are long hours of preparation, deep research, endless writing, and hard work. Law is rarely as glamorous as it looks from the outside. But somehow, despite it all, we still love it.
Once upon a time, there was an invisible agreement: that if you studied hard, got good grades, you would get a good job, through which you could build a life for yourself and start a family. It was a straight line and a promise.
But somewhere along the line, the promise was quietly broken. Graduates left university with good grades, but struggled to find a job. When they did find jobs, they couldn’t afford to build their lives because the cost of living kept rising and income could not catch up. https://t.co/BzLvRBXKjc
@iamhalimat_ Aside from studying hard and using the right materials, one piece of advice I wish I had received is this: build genuine friendships during law school.
The passion for stretching yourself
and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the
hallmark of the growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people
to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
