@FABConnects The worst customer service ever. I have been listening to your online music for the last 15 mins., with no resolution in sight. I have been trying since yesterday to speak with your customer service team, which seems non-existent. This is pathetic service FAB.
Ameen Sayani, a pioneering radio presenter who drew in generations of listeners in India with his melodic voice on a radio show that became a national phenomenon, died on Tuesday. He was 91. https://t.co/WDxTTiFon7
Growing up in a government colony in India was an awesome community raising experience. Everything was sort of shared.
- Someone who bought a fridge would keep cold drinks or ice for neighbors important guests
- Someone who had a TV (and in later days, cable) would play cricket matches or rent a VHS movie for the whole street
- Someone who had a landline phone was de facto number for the whole street
- If you came home early from school while your parents were away, or if the parents had to leave for home town for an emergency, you'd automatically move into neighbors/friends house without asking, but just telling
- You didn't need to set up time and dates for meeting friends. You just showed up.
- You played with friends till it was dark, and then again went to the park on a walk with parents post dinner and played with friends their yet again.
- Your parents didn't have to constantly look out for you or be scared where you were. You played independently and then came back when you thought you were done
- You went to school 10-15 km away on a bicycle, without the parent worrying if you will get steam rolled by a vehicle or be kidnapped by someone.

I have met both the extremes, People who would say,
“I can diet as much, but can’t exercise. I would eat less but don’t ask me to move.”
Or
“I love exercising but can’t live without my favourite foods. I will run 2 km extra but want to eat to my heart’s content”
Honestly both are missing the important aspects of health. Those who’re hyper aware of their nutrition but don’t move enough are not conditioning their body towards better joint health & functionality in old age.
Those who ignore nutrition but train vigorously can still have messed up blood panel.
Training & nutrition both have to go hand in hand, then only you can maximise the chances at being your healthiest version.
I visited this kick-ass south Indian restaurant called Tadka in Kyoto, Japan. Tadka is owned and run by Japanese people. They visit Chennai once every 6 months, learn new dishes, practice it to perfection and add it to their menu.

The ability to eat similar food on a daily basis is a flex you won't realize until you actually do it.
Monotony can bring consistency and both compounds long term.
We can be as delusional as we want about our eating habits as Indians. But this is where the cookie crumbles.
Change your plate proportion
Cut sugar/junk/seed oils
Lower Carb intake
Prioritise animal based protein. For vegetarians it will be dairy.
Eat healthy fat
And for God's sake at least walk for 45 mins in a day.
