Everyone’s player their top 3–4 kids at pitcher, shortstop, first, and third—the whole game.

I’ve resisted that all season.
Rotated everyone.
Spread the reps.
Gave everyone a few innings in the infield.

But if we lose Saturday… we’re done.
Season over.

So yeah—for the first time, I’m doing the same, and playing our best.

Not because I’ve changed my philosophy.
But because they care.
They want to win.
And I want to give them the best shot to do it.

That said—
It’s still a teachable moment.

“Boys. Even if you’re not starting at short or batting 2nd, the game could still come down to you.

Everyone hits.
Everyone plays.

And any one of you could be the hero!”

This pic was taken after our W yesterday. Our kids were going nuts.

And yeah… this season has been different.

For the first time, I’ve had to evaluate my son honestly against his peers.
Not gonna lie—it’s tough.

I’m ultra-aware of the perception.
Probably overcorrecting just to prove I’m being fair.

But I care so much about getting it right—for literally every kid.

And honestly, my team’s on a frigin roll!
The stands are buzzing.
Parents are organizing a surprise Mother’s Day thing this weekend.

They’re all in… because their kids are all in.

And I’ve gone ALL OUT.

Every bell. Every whistle.
Deployed every tool I’ve got to give these kids the best baseball experience I know how to create.

It’s been a blast soaking it in with my son—who couldn’t be more into it.

I’m still learning. Still experimenting.
Still blown away that I’m still learning so many new ways to be a better coach.

And yeah… it’s kinda funny how much time I spend thinking, writing, and tweeting about 7- and 8-year-old baseball.

But I’m not embarrassed.

I’m all in.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
