These kind of behaviors should be illegal in Germany but there is very little consumer protection here. And from my understanding GS1 contracts are commercial, which means no consumer protection and extreme predatory contracts.

They provide a service but make most of their revenue from tricking and lying to people through complex contracts, cancellation policies and outright lies.

I no longer needed my barcodes 3 years ago, and they are still billing me... Read below

Watch out for the firm Hornlein & Feyler as well. They are basically a mafia extortionist legal racket. They will keep tacking on max legal fees they can and have extremely short payment windows buried in huge lengthy letters.
