@LiamHamilton16@LeTour@Digital_i_ I have no idea why Channel 5 snatched this event away from ITV/Channel 4 and then made such a poor job of it. Unnecessary studio anchor, hopeless commentary for the most part, difficult to follow what is happening, poor interviews, tables too small to read. What a terrible shame
When we say Clean Up Britain is a non-party political campaign, we mean it. This sort of disgraceful + embarrassing sight on the A2 road, just above Dover, should worry and shame us all.
Can you imagine what international visitors think of us? @JuLlewellyn
@Channel5Sport Terrible, disappointing coverage of the Tour. I couldn’t tell what was going on. A completely unnecessary studio anchor woman. None of the charm and atmosphere generated by the previous team. Why on earth did you try to reinvent something that has worked so well for so long? Dire
@cleanupbritain@litter_lady Red Bull shows no sign of caring about how many of their cans are strewn on the roadside. It’s their empty drinks cans that I see the most of. How about taking some responsibility Red Bull?
Countless Red Bull consumers break the law by flinging their empty cans on the ground. Even Red Bull itself is happy to break the law. Just to remind them… neither their cans or cars have Wiiings. Stop swallowing your own propaganda please.
@KayBurley It was the same when Sunak resigned. Totally unacceptable when the rest of the world wants to hear what the PM has to say. Why was it allowed?
No, it’s not fair, either ban it completely or impose a clean up tax on every packet sold. It’s not right that manufacturers refuse to take any responsibility for what happens to the products afterwards. It wouldn’t be a problem if people weren’t so lazy, but they are
A scandal in plain sight.
Britain is covered in tens of millions of chewing gum blotches, scarring and polluting pavements. @MarsUK has 95% of the gum market in the UK, and pays nothing towards clean up costs. Is that fair...?
This is awful. The last ever Denby Pottery going to the kiln. Why is there not uproar? Where’s the government in this?? We all have Denby in our homes, in family heirlooms, as our history and now it’s closing through lack of support, such a sad sad day. #SaveDenby@denbypottery
Virtually all the exits to Britain's motorway service stations look this. What's wrong with us in this country? No other west European countries are as run-down, filthy and littered as Britain... we need to turn the tide of decline. Pride and respect should never go out of fashion.
@cleanupbritain I‘m glad that CLEAN UP BRITAIN takes such a strong stance on the appalling state of this country. You only speak the truth and point out what stares us all in the face every day. The UK is better than this and has been badly let down for decades by every government.
Let's call this out for what it is... a failure of @NorthLincsCNews and @NationalHways to do their job. It's not clear which one is actually responsible. In time-honoured fashion they'll probably blame each other. Either way, this is lazy, incompetent, amateurism.
This roadside verge reveals:
A total absence of personal responsibility
A rejection of the notion of community pride
A failure of legal enforcement against criminals
A complete embarrassment for Britain
It cannot go on. @benonwine
Why don't we do this in Britain? We could dig trenches across every housing estate in Britain and install these underground waste units that only need a two-man operation to empty. Simple, efficient, and clean. No more overflowing bins and bags cluttering the streets.
