@RichySouthern Was literally just saying this. We are over performing considering the upheaval the squad has had, the fact we are just finding our feet. Give it time! I personally didn’t expect the results that have come.
The majority of fans get it I think.
@DZ1892 I feel at the end of the season we will look back at this game and see it as a rescued point. Irrespective of how they played, we fought back. #nufc
@MiguelDelaney Newcastle arrived in a world where replicating that route had been heavily restricted. Explaining why the rules changed doesn’t remove the competitive advantage accumulated before they changed.
I’ve not seen @MiguelDelaney get this animated and excitable since #nufc takeover. Looking forward to the weeks ahead and him constantly getting owned in the comments section.
@MiguelDelaney But “it was a totally different world” is precisely my point. Chelsea were able to turn Abramovich’s wealth into trophies, global profile and the revenues of an established elite club in that world.
@MiguelDelaney You can call that financial restraint, but it also protects the advantages accumulated by the established elite. That’s hardly reversing football’s relationship with money.
@MiguelDelaney I didn’t say journalism should surrender, Miguel. Scrutinise power absolutely. I’m saying the battle you’re describing was largely lost years ago. Football is already dominated by states, billionaires, private equity and vast commercial interests. (1/2)
