not here for the fan wars as I love both women. pero just my two cents on Nadine’s performance.

it is so easy to dismiss Mara as one of Nadine’s “easier roles” but I loved Twinkle and Mara’s contrast.

Twinkle is all passion, intensity, and bold as her sacrifices for Angelo (and believe me, Vice Ganda did wonders with that)

Mara is enveloped, repressed, almost shackled in her bottled in emotions, unable to love the son she left — she cannot love as loudly as Twinkle. she was a poised beauty queen who had to carry a heavy sadness only in her eyes. she had to be so restrained. almost uneasy with her emotions. she was trained all her life never to be vulnerable. trained to be the most poised perfection.

Mara may not be Nadine’s most intense performance but it does not mean it is not just as good as her usual. it is the most perfect balance to Vice’s passionate performance as Twinkle.

you can be a good performer even in subdued ways. especially if the role calls for it.
