As per Jawahir-i-Faridi, the Jat clans Khokhars, Dhudhis, Joiyas, Bhattis, and Wattus who became Muslim in the 13th century during the time of Baba Farid were busy in prayer and fasting, were respected locally, and could place ten thousand cavalry and foot soldiers.
Buddhism teaches that Brahmin Hindus are icchantikas (unbelievers) and that killing them does not produce karma. This may explain why Brahmins were not considered upper class in Punjab and other regions of present-day Pakistan.

Gakhars, one of the largest groups of Potohar Plateau (corresponds to historical Gandhara)
> Formed cavalry of the Hindu Shahis who fell in 1021
> Muslim Gakhar figures present by 1398
Gakhars were non-Muslims in 1021 but had become Muslim by 1208 already.
Pakistanis were always predisposed to conversion into Islam because of dominance of Sramanic faiths like Buddhism or the pastoral nomadic ways of the hinterland masses.

We ruled these lands saar. There’s a reason nobody knows or even cares about anything related to your history in Punjab, because it was useless and irrelevant and you were no name peasants or small time Mughal revenue collectors.
