‼️ A fake online network, run by people from India and Afghanistan pretending to be Iranian, is spreading misinformation against Pakistan — says France 24.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf
JUST IN 🇮🇷🇺🇸: Iran's FIRST INTERVIEW After Peace Talks with U.S. FAIL in Pakistan
Speaker is Esmail Baghaei, Iran's Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
A lot of great details from the past 24 Hours of Negotiations.
I didn’t know much about the Pakistani media before today, but it seems there are two camps:
* Those who recite the facts that previously happened in an objective summary
* 99% who seem just eager to praise Pakistan and saying “big announcement coming…” every 20 minutes
The most reliable news out of Pakistan has basically been Al-Jazeera - a sentence I never thought I’d say a decade ago.
We can’t trust Axios or Fox.
WSJ and NYT aren’t giving breaking updates.
The local media has too much government interference apparently.
Tasmin has been more transparent but is government aligned Iranian source so you can’t fully take that at face value.
Truly wild how far the standards globally on journalism have fallen, and I hope it’s something that can be repaired.

A significant development has emerged during the Iran-US tensions, as Saudi Arabia has finalized plans to establish a $10 billion oil refinery in Gwadar. The project will be developed through a joint investment strategy involving Saudi Aramco and four major Pakistani state-owned companies: Pakistan State Oil, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, and Government Holdings Private Limited. Pakistani partners are expected to contribute around 40 to 45 percent of the initial investment.
The refinery is planned to process between 300,000 to 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day, which is likely to significantly reduce Pakistan’s import bill and strengthen energy security. The foundation of this project dates back to 2019, during the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Pakistan, although it faced delays due to global economic challenges and security concerns.
To attract investment, the Government of Pakistan has offered incentives including a 20-year tax holiday and exemptions from customs duties. Additionally, the Saudi Crown Prince has assured continued support through a $1 billion oil facility, renewal of financial deposits, and cooperation in infrastructure projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE:
- The IRGC delegation just landed in Pakistan (literally as I write this). These are the people that call the shots behind the scenes, the ones that matter (and the ones Israel would love to assassinate😂). This shows the negotiations are going very well
- The U.S. and Pakistan met face to face a couple of hours, no longer just through a mediator
- Israeli bombardment of Beirut has stopped
- U.S. reportedly clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz
- A report came out that Iranians are pleasantly surprised by America's willingness to listen
- Trump is conducting a victory lap, celebrating the war's outcomes, meaning he's made up his mind that the war has ended and is trying to twist the results into a win in the eyes of the American voter
In other words, negotiations are going well, and it seems Trump is committed to ending this war, forcing Netanyahu to do so as well
The main sticking point: The Strait of Hormuz. Iran wants a toll, the U.S. objects
My guess is the U.S. folds, allowing a temporary Iranian toll (or another structure) to allow them to collect reparations for war damages
Will Trump get a piece like he wants? Who knows anymore 😂
But for Iran, just the fact they are meeting with the U.S. Vice President (first time ever since the 1979 revolution), and the fact they're even talking about a toll system, demonstrates what I've said for months: They won this war
Let's see if that changes, as the negotiations are early
Note: I've predicted the war was ending at the start of the month, predicted a ceasefire once Trump's crazy posts happened, was the first to break the news of a ceasefire 48 minutes before it was reported, and predicted the ceasefire will extend to Lebanon
However now I'm really struggling to make any predictions, beyond the ceasefire holding on all fronts.
I'm worried Lebanon's ceasefire could be the same as before the Iran war (i.e. in theory only), and that an emboldened Iran could continue it's proxy foreign policy, leading to ongoing instability in the region.
I do hope, and think there's a very good possibility, that we see a New Iran after these negotiations, one that starts doing business with the U.S. (gradually) and even possibly dismantles its proxy network, in return for American concessions including the lifting of all sanctions. I really think Trump can actually pull this off.
Even if PM Shahbaz is going to KSA or not as claimed by Tehran Times, sources claim that understanding on Strait Of Hormuz is at hand and agreement is expected to be signed tomorrow. Most likely Pakistan and KSA joint patrolling of Strait of Hormuz. Let’s hopes so.
Big Development:
If PM Shahbaz Sharif is travelling to KSA on emergency basis that likely means USA and Iran are agreed that Pakistan and KSA will be doing joint patrolling of the Strait of Hormuz: my sources in Washington DC confirm.
BREAKING 🔴
Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry says Iranian strikes cut roughly 600,000 barrels per day of production, while damage to the East-West Pipeline reduced throughput by about 700,000 barrels per day.
Cotton prices in Pakistan are exploding—even before the crop is fully grown. With imports disrupted and supply shrinking, traders are rushing to lock deals early, betting on even higher prices ahead. A perfect storm of shortage, climate impact, and global tensions is reshaping the market.
The game has changed now that Iran says it will accept payments from ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz in cryptocurrencies, or the yuan, writes @andymukherjee70 (via @opinion) https://t.co/UVARg30qmF
The US Energy Information Administration (@EIAgov) is now forecasting a rather long disruption to crude oil production in the Persian Gulf.
(Note this is wellhead production rather than flows via Strait of Hormuz. It doesn't appear to include natural gas liquids, so just crude)
New: Pakistan and Egypt are among the countries channeling communications between US and Iranian officials, a Pakistani official source told CNN on Sunday.
The news comes as US President Donald Trump appeared to set a new deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz before the United States begins targeting Iranian power facilities.
