So, as I was waiting for time to handover Rotary Presidency in Entebbe. I decided to do a nail job at my usual parlor. No sooner had the manicurist embarked on the job than a lady of about 35, packed her car at the entrance, dashed into the room, sat a bit, studied the environment, checked that I was the one & boom! She stood up, picked an exercise book & pen from the counter & hit them between me & the manicurist(actually on my left hand that was being worked on) & angrily demanded him to sign an agreement accepting that he owes her a certain amount of money & when she will pay it back now that there’s a credible witness. Being a citizen that I have now become, I stopped the TikTok series that I was watching, washed off the product on my nails with a dirty towel, straightened my suit & left without a word. As my driver was reversing to go, she scampered out of the parlor warning him that he has survived but it won’t be long. Guys, do you think I am still that “powerful” like I used to be? How was my presence going to scare off the borrower? Why not even request me to listen to her case & advise? Ugandans have taught me some “bad” manners— you saw nothing, you know nothing. Mind your business. I still have nails on the left hand clipped. The right is “Walumbe-like”.
