Developers at Ubisoft Barcelona have started a three-day strike to protest the company’s plan to lay off 51 employees who worked on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
According to one of the game’s developers, the Barcelona team created all the underwater levels.
Despite Black Flag Resynced selling 2 million copies on its first day, that team is now being laid off.
The workers are asking Ubisoft to:
- Cancel the 51 layoffs.
- Guarantee better job security.
- Bring back the studio’s previous remote work policy (up to 60% remote work).
- Honor previously promised promotions and salary increases.
Ubisoft has responded to layoffs that:
"remains a proposal, and no final decision will be made until the collective consultation process has concluded".
The usual suspects out in force on Twitter trying to stir up as much Palworld fuss as they can for $.
Stay vigilant, gamers.
Play games, enjoy your hobby, don’t get sucked into manufactured dramas by people posting 50 times a day to make $1.

Proud that New York is one of 12 states suing to stop Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros.
This is not a merger that serves the public. It would hand one company nearly a third of the movies and cable channels Americans watch, raise prices for streaming and cable, endanger the livelihoods of thousands of New York artists and entertainment workers, and threaten to shutter theaters across our city.
New York's workers helped build this industry. They should not be sacrificed for the sake of further corporate consolidation.
A coalition of 12 states have filed a lawsuit to block the Warner Bros & Paramount merger
The states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington
Palworld has made Steam history twice, Both its original launch and the 1.0 release are now among the biggest concurrent player peaks in Steam’s history, something very few games have ever achieved.
Its original Early Access launch reached an all-time peak of 2,101,867 concurrent players, making it one of the biggest player peaks Steam has ever seen.
Now, with the 1.0 release, the game has reached a new peak of 855,525 concurrent players in the last 24 hours, once again placing it among Steam’s biggest launches.

The proposal would force publishers to keep games playable after essential online services shut down
The big PS game devs hold so much power in this thing going forward.
I know it’d go against the grain of their “bosses”, so-to-speak.
But if @SonySantaMonica and @insomniacgames stand with gamers on the physical games front - they can make REAL impact
