Shani Gabay, a Jewish Israeli, was caught in the crossfire of Hamas gunfire during the October 7th terror attack on Jews at the Nova festival.

She tried to run for her life.

"While attempting to flee after a grenade hit her, Shani made an effort to tell dozens of confused people in the crowd to drive in the right direction away from Hamas.”

Her family recieved many texts from survivors, and Shani was personally responsible for pointing them in the right direction away — saving their lives.

But while Shani saved other people's lives, she herself was not so lucky.

During the chaos of that day, Shani ended up hiding in an ambulance with a group of other young people.

While hiding in the infamous "death ambulance", Hamas pelleted it with grenades, burning her alive.

18 young people died in that ambulance, including Shani.

After October 7th, Shani's parents initially couldn't find her body, leading them to suspect their daughter was actually taken hostage.

But when a necklace was found carrying Shani’s DNA and that of another woman, Israeli authorities opened the grave of the second victim and found two burnt bodies buried together as one.

This is according to The Jewish Chronicle, who spoke directly to her family after the war.

Shani's body had been so badly burned that the rescue workers initially misidentified her in burial, causing outrage and tense emotions from her grieving family.

“They admitted they had made a big mistake and that they had buried Shani on the first week of the war together with another young woman, whom Shani hadn’t even known.”

Weeks later, Shani's family got confirmation of her death.

On November 23, the family was informed that Shani’s remains had been located.

“Shani turned 26 on November 29. We ended our shivah on her birthday."

To honor Shani, her family sponsored a dog park in Yokneam, Israel, and various environmental efforts.

Shani loved her tattoos, travelling, yoga, days at the beach, dogs and her family.

Erfan Alizadeh was born in 2003. He was only 22 years old, 2 months before his 23rd birthday, when the Islamic Republic shot him dead during the January 2026 massacres.

His family didn’t know where he was. His uncle went to morgue searching for him though 100s of dead bodies.

Someone told him:

“You won’t find anyone here. All the bodies are in the warehouses behind the main hall.”

He walked into warehouse after warehouse. Then he began opening body bags. One zipper after another. Praying the next one wouldn’t be Erfan.

His uncle later wrote:

“Until I found your body, I died and came back to life a thousand times. I kept asking myself, where will I find you among all these flowers that had been cut down?”

When he finally found Erfan, he said:

“I died from both grief and relief in that moment.”

And because Erfan’s father wasn’t there, his uncle wrote: “I broke in your father’s place.”

His name was Erfan Alizadeh. Not Body 12186.
