We are ready to unleash nuclear innovation!⚡️ Together with a strong coalition of industry leaders, we’re applying for @ENERGY funding to support the deployment of the nation’s first small modular reactor at the Clinch River Nuclear Site in Oak Ridge, TN. This effort represents a strategic investment in America’s energy future — strengthening national security, supporting economic growth, and #UnleashingAmericanEnergy 🇺🇸

When you're cooling off after the gym you should read my report on the Tennessee Valley Authority's nuclear power program and its need for supplementary funding to kick the tires of American industrial capacity and lower next-of-a-kind costs for America https://t.co/x27KzdMfil
NUCLEAR 101: Advanced light-water small modular reactors are simply smaller, manufactured versions of large-scale reactors.
They typically range from 20-300 megawatts of electric power and will come in two types – pressurized and boiling water reactor systems.

As a result of heavy rainfall in the Ocoee River Basin, Parksville Lake water levels are rising. On top of Ocoee Dam #1 are engineered boards that help store more water. When the water reaches a certain height, the boards are designed to be overtopped or break - this is normal.
While temperatures drop across the service region, power demand goes up. Shift Manager Tom Heimel and the team at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant are helping keep the lights on and your home warm by providing carbon-free, reliable power for over 1.3 million homes.
