Americans are being killed in the street by their government. Our Constitution is being shredded and our rights are dissolving. Resist.
Senate Dems should block ICE funding this week. Activate the National Guard.
We can and must stop this.
@deancain@AOC charlie kirk was a plain old racist
he thought the civil rights act was a mistake (and blacks would not be able to vote or have equal rights).
he divided people and delivered a message of hate, fear and thought empathy was a disease.
This is absolutely fucking insane.
These are not targeted immigration enforcement operations. They are not focused on people with criminal records or recent arrivals.
Masked, armed federal agents are roaming the neighborhoods and workplaces of southern California and sweeping up whoever they can grab. They're asking Americans for their papers. Mistakenly arresting American citizens. Detaining legal residents. And now they're going to do all that with the help of the U.S. military? Against Americans in our own country?
People here in LA are scared - people who should have no legal reason to be scared. The biggest problem right now isn't the few city blocks in downtown LA where they should keep arresting the anarchist assholes who don't actually give a fuck about immigrants but show up at every protest to confront cops and burn shit down.
Our biggest problem is that the same federal government that's been sending people to a foreign gulag without due process is now using the U.S. military to help round up people who merely look like they might not be here legally. And almost everything they say about any of this turns out to be a lie.
Sure seems like that's the most important story right now - at least here in LA.
A pretty shocking clip from today. An LAPD officer on horseback tramples a protester who then falls in front of another horse. As others try to help the protester up, an LAPD officer wields a blunt weapon to strike the protester, but strikes a nearby horse in the head.
ICE arrest a U.S. citizen in Los Angeles—she is 9 months pregnant.
She began experiencing sharp stomach pains after detained—and had to be hospitalized.
"I wasn't resisting or anything," she said. "I can't fight back, I'm pregnant."
"I ducked down to sort of shield my stomach because I was afraid they were going to hurt me."
Video shows her explaining to agents, "I'm gonna need you guys to leave. This is private property."
That's when they arrested Cary López Alvarado for obstructing arrest—even though she was correct that ICE need a warrant to enter "private homes and non-public areas of a business."

BREAKING: Moments ago in Boyle Heights, CA, two federal immigration vehicles rammed into a white sedan carrying three individuals. Agents then appeared to fire a chemical agent into the car before detaining the driver.
A woman in the vehicle, sounding visibly shaken, insisted that all occupants are American citizens.
Protesters are beginning to surround the area now.
This response seems wildly excessive.

One of the most cynical things we do in screenwriting is trying to make the audience feel something we don’t actually feel ourselves.
They can sniff it out in an instant and the moment feels false.
Worse, people tend to resent the person who tries to pull a fast one on them.

Nothing annoys me more than couples who break-up and remain friends. Just hate each other like normal mature people. Only dumb children want to be friends with everyone. Real adults hold grudges.
