Sri Lanka’s Official Reserves Rise to $7.28 Billion in February, Highest Since August 2020 📈

Sri Lanka's official reserve assets rose 6.6% to USD 7,284 million in February 2026 from USD 6,832 million in January, surpassing the USD 7 billion mark for the first time since August 2020.
This includes proceeds from the People's Bank of China swap arrangement - CBSL

Unbelievable, NPP now claims @jica_direct_en funded LRT project had corruption. Note, at the time of cancellation only the feasibility was completed. So whatever the corruption took place was in consultancy contract, which JICA also oversees.. (1/n)

⭕️ Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi has landed at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Sri Lanka a short while ago.

⭕️The primary purpose of his visit is to inaugurate the $514 million Uma Oya multi-purpose project built by an Iranian firm. The project is expected to generate 290 GigaWatts of energy, irrigate 6,000 hectares, and provide water. It was initially financed by Iran before international sanctions hit the project.

⭕️The two nations are expected to sign five agreements during Raisi's visit, further boosting economic and strategic cooperation.

I have instructed CEB management to accept resignations of any individual without hesitation and to recover all dues to CEB.

I have also instructed the relevant officials to expedite work related to CEB reforms, cost reduction mechanisms, implementing identified power projects in the generation plan, expand digital payment platform & outsourcing payment collections and disciplinary & legal steps against personal who disrupted services of CEB.
